Practice at Government Buildings

Government buildings can be excellent places to practice Nosework. Most of these buildings are closed on Sundays and national holidays, with many closed on Saturdays, too.

There are court buildings and city halls, but also think about DMV offices, public works buildings, post offices, and other city services buildings. These locations give you plenty of challenging areas–breezways, stairs, ramps, decorative facades, signs, and parking lots with a vast array of designs.

Of course, be conscientious while using these spaces and know that you’ll probably be video recorded–most public spaces have video surveillance equipment.

If you’re approached by security and they ask you to leave, be polite and pack up for a different location. Of course, being questioned by a security guard might create even more opportunities for searching and a new fan of the sport of Nosework.
